Horrible climbing accident on Sunday in the Ausserfern in Tyrol: A 36-year-old German fell between Lachenspitze and Schrecksee in Weißenbach about 40 meters over steep, rocky terrain and remained unconscious on the ground.
The accident happened just after 1 p.m. The alpinist climbed the via ferrata of Lachenspitze together with two guides. “Then the three walked further in the direction of Schrecksee,” said the police.
Flown to Murnau Clinic
When the man tried to dodge an oncoming hiker, he fell for unknown reasons and was unconscious about 30 to 40 meters below. The German suffered serious injuries in the fall and was flown to the Murnau clinic after first aid.
