Cries for help from the vaccination stream called two witnesses to the scene, who became life-saving Thursday. They found an elderly woman in the water who had fallen while using a walker while feeding ducks. A helper took off his clothes and climbed into the icy water to help the pensioner.
The 96-year-old senior was feeding ducks on the Ipfbach in Asten on Thursday around 1 p.m. She was alone, no one saw her lose her balance with her walker and fall headfirst into the stream.
The helpers didn’t hesitate for a second
Two passers-by, a 21-year-old and a 60-year-old, heard the pensioner’s cries for help and did not hesitate for a second. They ran to the victim, who was still somehow able to float.
The younger man held her arm as the 60-year-old ventured into the icy water when the air temperature was barely ten degrees and the water was even colder to pull the 96-year-old to shore. She was then taken by ambulance to Kepler University Hospital. There is no danger to life.
