We are combing the entire area of the Hintere Hetzau,” said Andreas Spitzbart of the Alpine police in Gmunden during the operation to the “Krone”.

Rescuers from all over the state arrived. “The area is relatively inaccessible. There are a lot of boulders, so you’re going five to ten meters downhill into a creek bed. “It’s more complicated than any other search,” Spitzbart continued, stressing, “We’ve been in constant contact with the family members since Sunday.”

Around 16:00 the search was interrupted without result because the warm weather was too hard for humans and animals. However, the search will continue in smaller groups in the coming days and weeks.
