The Japanese airline Japan Airlines (JAL) says it has become the target of a hacker attack. This affected the company’s internal and external systems and led to delays on some domestic and international flights.
To resolve the system failures, a router was temporarily disabled. Ticket sales for flights had to be stopped.
No signs of attack on systems
All Nippon Airways (ANA), Japan’s second-largest airline, has found no signs of an attack on its systems, according to a spokesperson.
Earlier this week, US carrier American Airlines suspended all flights for an hour due to a technical problem in its network hardware, causing significant travel disruptions for thousands of passengers on Christmas Eve.
